2006-026709: The
Morris Plains Police are investigating a fuel spill that
effected ten different roads. At 3:17 p.m. on December
1, 2006 police responded to Mountain Way and Granniss Avenue
for fuel on the roadway. Officers discovered that
approximately 25 gallons of what appeared to be diesel fuel
was on ten different roads. Police could not locate a
vehicle in the area which may have leaked the fuel on the
roadway. The roads involved are Mountain Way,
Granniss Avenue, Sun
Valley Way, Holiday Drive, Stonybrook Road, Rudden Lane,
Lakeview Drive, Sylvan Drive, Trowbridge Road and Dogwood

2006-023583: The Morris Plains Police are
investigating an attempted burglary to The Sports Page on
Speedwell Avenue. The incident occurred on October 24,
2006 at 9:03 a.m. Police responded to the location for
an activated burglar alarm and found that unknown actor(s)
attempted to gain access to the building through a rear
door. Entry to the building was not gained.

2006-023294: The Morris Plains Police are
investigating a burglary to a Diana Road residence that
occurred on October 20, 2006 between 9:45 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.
The actor forcibly entered the home through a window
in the rear of the home. A loud bang was heard at
approximately 2:30 p.m. in the area which may be related to the
incident. While investigating the burglary, an
additional burglary was located at a neighboring home.
The victim of the that burglary stated that approximately
two weeks prior his garage was burglarized. Also see

2006-023026: The Morris Plains Police are
investigating a burglary to a Diana Road residence that
occurred on October 17, 2006 between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00
p.m. The actor forcibly entered the home through a
basement window. A suspect was observed in the area at
the time of the incident. The suspect was also seen
earlier in the day on West Hanover Avenue near Fairchild Pl.
The suspect is described as a black male, 5'07", 150 lbs.
with a thin build, wearing a blue and yellow jacket, black
knit cap and baggy jeans. Anyone who may have

2006-019277: The Morris Plains Police are
investigating the theft of a motor vehicle from a Sylvan
Drive residence. The vehicle, a 1996 beige Lincoln
Continental, was stolen sometime between 12:45 am and 6:00am
on September 1, 2006. The owner reported the vehicle
was last seen in his driveway unlocked. The vehicle
was recovered shortly after 6:00am on September 1, 2006 at
Malapardis Park on Malapardis Road in Hanover Twp. The
vehicle was involved in a crash at that location and left
disabled. Anyone who may have witnessed something or

2006-018443: The Morris Plains Police are
investigating a burglary to a Speedwell Avenue business.
Sometime between 7:00pm Wednesday August 23, 2006 and 4:15am
Thursday August 24, 2006 an unknown subject or subjects
entered the Speedwell Family Chiropractic Center, 415
Speedwell Avenue, through a first floor window. Anyone
who may have witnessed someone in the area between the above

2006-018070: The Morris Plains Police
are investigating the theft of a green 2001 GMC Van, NJ
registration "X42Y22". The van was parked behind the
stores at Kohl's Plaza located at Rt. 10 & 202. The
van was last seen at 7:00pm Friday August 18, 2006 and
discovered missing at 7:00am Saturday August 19,2006.

2006-017651: The Morris Plains Police
are investigating the theft of a blue 2006 Yamaha Vino
Scooter. The scooter was taken from the Morris Plains
Train Station between 7:00am Friday August 11, 2006 and
7:30pm Sunday August 13, 2006. The scooter had its
handle bars locked and was bearing NJ registration "P296K".

2006-016520: The Morris Plains Police
are investigating the theft of a outboard boat motor and a
boat battery. The motor and battery were stolen from a
boat parked behind an American Rd. business between July 18,
2006 and August 1, 2006. The Motor is a 2005 Mercury
9.9 horsepower outboard boat motor. The battery is a
100 amp Glassmat 'Lee' Battery. If anyone has

2006-013768: The Morris Plains Police
investigated a home invasion to a Mountain Way home on June
28, 2006. Two actors entered the home through an
unlocked door, assaulted the homeowner and committed theft
by taking the victims wallet. After further
investigation, Det. Dobbins and Det. Koroski arrested one
subject and charged him with Robbery, Burglary, Assault,
Theft and Conspiracy to commit those acts. The second
actor remains at large. Warrants have been signed for
the arrest of Matthew L. Bowan, Date of Birth 03/19/1984,
Last known address is Hamburg, NJ. He is believed to
be in the Sussex County area or may have possibly fled to
Pennsylvania or Tennessee. If anyone has information
