  • August 30, 2010:

Ptl. Gallagher stopped a vehicle on Route 10 at 3:23 p.m.  Patrols found the driver to have a suspended drivers license.  The subject, a 47 year old Stanhope, NJ resident, was placed under arrest and charged with driving while suspended.

Ptl. Keane investigated criminal mischief on Rosedale Avenue at 12:34 p.m.  The complainant reported that his house was struck with at least ten golf balls during the night.  No damage was observed.

Ptl. Rapp and Ptl. Hochman responded to a Speedwell Avenue business at 11:21 p.m. for an assault in progress.  Patrols located two individuals who were in the street.  After further investigation it was determined the actors had broken a mirror at the business and then became disorderly.  Two other customers from the business then escorted the two accused subjects from the premises.  All involved were advised how to sign complaints with the court.

  • August 27, 2010:

Ptl. Rolph investigated a fraud at 3:04 p.m.  The victim was defrauded of $2000.00.  The victim stated she believed she was wiring money to a family member but later found out that the money was stolen.  The investigation is ongoing.

Ptl. Rapp stopped a vehicle on Route 10 at 11:45 p.m.  The driver was found to have a suspended drivers license.  The 27 year old Harrison, NJ resident was placed under arrest and charged with driving while suspended, improper turn and failure to inspect.

  • August 26, 2010:

Sgt. Rolph and Ptl. Gallagher investigated a pedestrian struck by a motor vehicle on Glenbrook Road at 6:36 p.m.  A 6 year old child running across the street ran into a vehicle traveling on Glenbrook Road.  The child's injuries did not appear life threatening.  The Morris Minute Men Emergency Medical Services and Atlantic Health Care Mobile Intensive Care Unit assisted.  The roadway was closed for approximately 30 minutes while patrol conducted the investigation.

  • August 24, 2010:

Ptl. Rolph arrested a subject at 11:42 a.m.  The 36 year old Morris Plains resident was wanted on an active Morris Township, NJ warrant.  The subject posted bail and was released pending court.

Sgt. Koroski investigated a disorderly subject while in the Morris Plains Municipal Court at 5:55 p.m.  The 59 year old Morris Plains resident became belligerent while in court.  Patrols diffused the situation and no additional charges are pending.

  • August 23, 2010:

Sgt. Mautone investigated criminal mischief at 1:01 a.m.  Patrol reported that someone damaged the pedestrian crossing sign on Speedwell Extension.  The sign was completely destroyed.

Ptl. Hochman investigated a motor vehicle crash on Speedwell Avenue at 7:44 p.m.  one of the drivers was found to have a suspended drivers license and five active arrest warrants.  The 29 year old Rockaway, NJ resident was placed under arrest and issued a summons for driving while suspended.  The subject was later turned over to East Hanover Police in default of bail.

  • August 21, 2010:

Ptl. Hochman stopped a vehicle on Route 10 at 12:19 a.m.  The driver was found to have two active arrest warrants.  The 23 year old West Orange, NJ resident was placed under arrest and turned over to Randolph Police.

Ptl. Hochman stopped a vehicle on Maple Avenue at 8:29 a.m.  The driver, a 58 year old Morris Township, NJ resident, was found to have a suspended drivers license.   The subject was placed under arrest and charged with driving while suspended and failure to surrender license.

Ptl. Hochman stopped a vehicle on Court Road at 2:33 p.m.  The driver, a 25 year old Haledon, NJ resident, was found to have a suspended drivers license.  The subject was placed under arrest and charged with cracked windshield, driving while suspended and failure to surrender license.

  • August 20, 2010:

Ptl. Gallagher investigated solicitors on Granniss Avenue and also on Cornine Lane at 2:00 p.m.  Patrols located the subjects involved and had them cease further solicitation until a permit was obtained.

  • August 18, 2010:

Ptl. Hochman investigated suspicious activity on West Hanover Avenue at 9:52 a.m.  The complainant reported an unknown subject attempted to open the rear door of her home the night before.  No entry to the residence was gained and the matter is under investigation.

Ptl. Rapp investigated solicitors on Greenwood Road at 3:45 p.m.  Patrols located a 23 year old Clarksville, Tennessee resident and placed him under arrest.  The subject was charged under local ordinance for soliciting without a permit.

Sgt. Ewert investigated suspicious activity on Wyndwood Road at 4:14 p.m.  The complainant reported a vehicle in the area that appeared to be going to each mailbox.  The vehicle, which was described as a blue Toyota, was not located.

Ptl. Rapp investigated criminal Mischief on Diana Road at 5:07 p.m.  The complainant reported the window to her vehicle was smashed out while parked in front of her residence.  No items were taken from the vehicle.

  • August 17, 2010:

Ptl. Gallagher investigated a dispute on Glenbrook Road at 6:46 p.m.  The dispute was determined to be between a taxi driver and passenger over the fair owed.  The matter was adjusted by patrol and the parties were advised on how to sign complaints with the municipal court.

  • August 16, 2010:

Ptl. Hochman investigated criminal mischief at a Route 10 business at 8:04 a.m.  The victim reported that someone had cracked the glass on the stores front door.

  • August 15, 2010:

Ptl. Hochman investigated criminal mischief on Mountain Way at 3:09 p.m.  The victim reported damage to his vehicle while parked in front of his residence.

Ptl. Hochman stopped a vehicle on Speedwell Avenue at 4:33 p.m.  The driver was found to have a suspended registration, suspended drivers license and an active arrest warrant.  Patrols placed the subject under arrest for the violations and the warrant.  The driver was charged with fictitious plates, suspended registration, suspended drivers license, failure to surrender drivers license and no liability insurance.

  • August 14, 2010:

Ptl. Hochman investigated the report of an intoxicated male on Speedwell Avenue at 3:32.  Patrols located the subject and placed him under arrest.   The 33 year old Morris Plains resident was charged under local ordinance for open container in public.

Ptl. Hochman investigated solicitors on Janeway Place at 5:30 p.m.  Patrols located a 21 year old Ash Grove, Missouri resident and placed her under arrest.  The subject was charged under local ordinance for soliciting without a permit.

  • August 12, 2010:

Ptl. Rolph arrested a 39 year old Morris Plains resident at 7:35 p.m.  The subject was wanted on an active Randolph, NJ warrant.

  • August 11, 2010:

Ptl. Rolph reported criminal mischief to a parking sign at 3:46 a.m.  The sign is located in Municipal Lot #1.

  • August 9, 2010:

Ptl. Hochman investigated a theft at a Route 10 business at 10:19 a.m.  The victim reported his bicycle was stolen while it was left outside a business.  The bicycle was described as a black and green Mongoose BMX with foot pegs.

  • August 8, 2010:

Sgt. Koroski stopped a vehicle on Route 53 at 1:34 a.m.  The driver, a 20 year old Morris Plains resident, was placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated.  The subject was also issued a summons for speeding.

  • August 7, 2010:

Sgt. Mautone, Sgt. Koroski, the Morris Plains Fire Department and the Morris Minute Men Emergency Medical Services responded to a Littleton Rd. residence at 7:50 p.m. for a fire alarm.  At the scene patrols found a lamp had caught fire in a bedroom.  The scene was turned over to the MPFD.  There was no damage to the structure and no one was injured.

  • August 6, 2010:

Sgt. Mautone and Sgt. Koroski responded to a 9-1-1 call at a local residence at 11:18 p.m.  Patrols found a party of underage subjects consuming alcoholic beverages.  Patrols arrested a 20 year old Morristown, NJ resident who was found hiding in a closet.  He was charged with consuming or possessing an alcoholic beverage while underage and obstruction of justice.  Another seven subjects were placed under arrest and charged with under age consumption / or possession of an alcoholic beverage. 

  • August 5, 2010:

Ptl. Rapp and Ptl. Hochman investigated a burglary at 10:30 p.m.  The victims reported the home was entered while they were out.  The detective bureau and the Morris County Sheriff's Office Criminal Investigation Division responded and the investigation is ongoing.

Ptl. Hochman arrested a subject on a Morris Plains warrant at 10:46 p.m.  The 25 year old Morris Plains resident later posted bail and was released.

  • August 3, 2010:

Sgt. Rolph stopped a vehicle on Watnong Drive at 8:13 a.m.  The driver, a 36 year old Parsippany, NJ resident, was found to have two active arrest warrants.  Patrols arrested the driver who later was released on bail.

  • August 2, 2010:

Ptl Rush investigated a theft from motor vehicle at 1:30 p.m.  The victims vehicle was parked at a Littleton Road business at the time.  The investigation is continuing.

  • August 1, 2010:

Sgt. Koroski and Ptl. Rapp investigated an abandon 9-1-1 call at 9:53 p.m.  Patrols heard a dispute occurring upon their arrival.  The dispute was over one of the actors wanting to eat a guinea pig.  One of the actors alleged to have been assaulted.  Patrols determined the incident fell under the NJ Domestic Violence Protection Act and the matter was turned over to the Morris County Superior Court - Family Division.

  • July 31, 2010:

Sgt. Ewert and Ptl. Keane responded to a Speedwell Avenue business at 10:42 a.m. for a customer dispute.  The complainant stated an unhappy customer became disorderly and then left the store.  Patrols located the customer and advised that he is no longer welcome at the business.

  • July 29, 2010:

Sgt. Mautone with the assistance of the New Jersey State Police arrested a 25 year old Parsippany, NJ resident at 10:56 p.m.  The subject was wanted on an active Morris Plains warrant.  The subject was later released after posting bail .  Ptl. Keane investigated fraud at 3:40 p.m.  The complainant reported paying a contractor $9,400.00.  The contractor has not done any of the work and attempts to locate him have been unsucc
