  • March 7, 2010:

Sgt. Mautone, Ptl. Koroski and Ptl. Gallagher investigated a theft at a Littleton Road business at 4:15 p.m.  Patrols identified a suspect and after further inquiry the subject was placed under arrest.  The 21 year old Wayne, NJ resident was charged with possession of CDS paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic needle.  Charges for the theft are pending.

Sgt. Mautone, Ptl. Koroski and Ptl. Gallagher investigated off road vehicles riding on the Borough Walking Path off Davis Avenue at 2:16 p.m.  Patrols were able to appprehend two subjects in the Kohl's Plaza parking lot.  Both subjects, a 20 year old and a 21 year old, both from Parsippany, NJ, were placed under arrest and charged with operating an off road vehicle on public property.

  • March 5, 2010:

Sgt. Rolph and Ptl. Rush investigated an assault at 9:52 p.m.  The complainant reported being assaulted while visiting a family  member.  All involved were interviewed and advised how to sign complaints with the municipal court.

Sgt. Rolph investigated a complaint of a violation of a restraining order at 1:12 a.m.  Patrols conducted an investigation an ultimately signed a warrant for the arrest of the accused. 

  • March 4, 2010:

Ptl. Rapp investigated a theft at a Littleton Road business at 12:45 p.m.  The theft of $3,500.00 is under continuing  investigation.

Ptl. Hochman, with the assistance of Parsippany Police, arrested a subject who was wanted on a Morris Plains warrant at 12:55 p.m.  The 43 year old Madison, NJ resident was committed to the Morris County Jail.

Ptl. Kohn and Ptl. P. Rolph stopped a vehicle on Route 10 at 9:59 p.m.  After further investigation the driver, a 43 year old Morganville, NJ resident, was placed under arrest.  The driver was charged with improper turn, no liability insurance, driving while intoxicated and refusal to submit breath samples.

  • March 3, 2010:

Ptl. Hochman stopped a vehicle on Route 10 at 3:24 p.m.  The driver was placed under arrest and the 62 year old Chatham, NJ resident was charged with unregistered vehicle and driving while suspended.

  • February 28, 2010:

Ptl. Hochman stopped a vehicle on West Hanover Avenue at 1:24 p.m.  The driver, a 29 year old Newark, NJ resident, was placed under arrest for driving while suspended. 

  • February 27, 2010:

Ptl. Hochman stopped a vehicle on Littleton Road at 1:16 p.m.  The driver was found to have a suspended drivers license.  The 23 year old Woodland Park, NJ resident was placed under arrest and charged with driving while suspended and several other motor vehicle charges which include failure to inspect and no liability insurance.

  • February 26, 2010:

Sgt. Rolph and Ptl. Keane investigated a theft at a route 10 business at 8:15 p.m.  Patrols identified a suspect and arrested a 25 year old Morristown, NJ resident.  The suspect was charged with shoplifting over $400.00 worth of merchandise.

  • February 25, 2010:

Sgt. Mautone, Ptl. Rush and the Morris Plains Fire Department investigated a power outage on Dogwood Road and Mountain Way at 7:52 p.m.  Patrols found a large tree had fallen and broke several utility poles and downed numerous wires.  The MPFD stood by till JCP&L responded.

Sgt. Mautone, Ptl. Rush and the Morris Plains Fire Department responded to a Forest Drive home for a fire at 8:47 p.m.  At the scene it was determined that creosote that accumulated in the chimney had ignited.  The scene was turned over to the MPFD.  No major damage was reported.

  • February 24, 2010:

Sgt. Mautone and Ptl. Rush assisted Parsippany Police in attempting to stop a vehicle on Route 53 at 9:10 p.m.  The vehicle failed to stop for patrol units and continued to the Cul-de-sac of Jaqui Avenue.  The driver then fled on foot with officers giving chase.  Sgt. Mautone apprehended the suspect on Glenbrook Road.  The subject, a 43 year old Madison, NJ resident, was charged in Morris Plains for numerous motor vehicle offenses. The subject was then turned over to Parsippany Police pending charges for eluding and driving while intoxicated.  Patrols were assisted by Parsippany Police, Morris County Park Police and the Morris Township Police.

Ptl. Rush investigated a theft from a local business at 7:52 p.m.  The complainant reported that over $500.00 worth of merchandise was stolen from the business.  A person of interest was identified and the matter is under investigation.

Sgt. Rolph stopped a vehicle on Route 10 at 12:30 p.m.  The driver was found to have an active arrest warrant out of Roxbury, NJ.  The 43 year old Randolph, NJ resident was placed under arrest and issued a summons for failure to observe signal.

  • February 22, 2010:

Ptl. Kohn is investigated a possible theft from a local business at 3:03 p.m.  The complainant reported an attempted theft of over $40,000.00 .  Patrols identified three persons of interest and the investigation is ongoing.

  • February 20, 2010:

Sgt. Mautone and Ptl. Rush investigated a loud party at a Morris Plains residence at 8:28 p.m.  Upon patrols arrival many of the partygoers fled on foot.  Patrols discovered an underage drinking party.  Three Juveniles were detained and charges for CDS and liquor laws are pending.

Ptl. Koroski stopped a vehicle on Littleton Road at 2:02 p.m.  The driver was found to have a suspended drivers license.  The 28 year old Passaic, NJ resident was placed under arrest and charged with driving while suspended.

  • February 18, 2010:

Ptl. Keane and the Morris Plains Fire Department responded to a Bryce Way residence at 12:06 p.m. for the report of a fire.  An unattended candle had caused a rooms carpeting to catch fire.  The fire was extinguished by the homeowner.  The scene was turned over to the MPFD.

  • February 17, 2010:

Ptl. Rapp and Ptl. Keane investigated a theft at 12:11 p.m.  The complainant reported a person stole merchandise from the Littleton Road business.  Patrols identified a 41 year old Florham Park, NJ resident as the suspect and charges are pending.

Ptl. Keane investigated the report of identity theft at 2:20 p.m.  The victim reported several unauthorized charges on a utility bill.  The utility company is investigating.

  • February 13, 2010:

Ptl. Kohn investigated harassment at 5:49 p.m.  The complainant reported harassment which fell under the NJ Domestic Violence Protection Act.  The matter was turned over to the Morris County Superior Court - Family Division. 

  • February 12, 2010:

Ptl. Rapp stopped a vehicle on Route 53 at 10:56 p.m.  The driver of the vehicle was found to have an active arrest warrant.  The 32 year old Denville, NJ resident was placed under arrest for the Allamuchy, NJ warrant.

  • February 11, 2010:

Sgt. Mautone and Ptl. investigated threats at 8:26 a.m.  Patrols interviewed the parties involved and did not find probable cause to file charges.  The involved subjects agreed to not have any further contact.

  • February 10, 2010:

Sgt. Mautone and Ptl. Koroski responded to an assault at 2:08 p.m.  At the scene patrols arrested a 28 year old Morris Plains resident.  During the arrest the subject resisted and attempted to assault the officers.  The subject was charged with simple assault, criminal mischief, resisting arrest and aggravated assault and committed to the Morris County Jail in default of $10,000.00 bail.

Ptl. Hochman investigated disorderly conduct at 5:41 p.m.  At the scene patrols located a highly intoxicated male.  The subject was transported to the hospital and no charges were filed.

  • February 9, 2010:

Ptl. Keane and Ptl. Kohn investigated a motor crash on Speedwell Avenue at 4:54 p.m.  Investigation revealed a vehicle entered the parking lot of a business the wrong way continued through the lot and struck a fence.  The 83 year old Morris Twp., NJ resident was taken to the hospital for minor injuries and issued a summons for careless driving.

  • February 8, 2010:

Ptl. Keane investigated the report of a violation of a court order.  Probable cause was found and an arrest warrant was issued for the suspect.  The matter which falls under the NJ Prevention of Domestic Violence Act was turned over to the Morris County Superior Court - Family Division.

Ptl. Keane investigated a theft at a Rt. 10 business at 1:10 p.m.  The complainant reported a subject stole $20.00 worth of merchandise then fled the area.  Patrols continued the investigation and identified a suspect.  Complaints are pending. 

  • February 6, 2010:

Ptl. Koroski investigated criminal mischief to a residence at 3:43 p.m.  The actors were gone prior to patrols arrival.  The matter is under investigation.

Ptl. Rush investigated suspicious activity at 9:33 p.m.  The complainant reported receiving three suspicious telephone calls within four hours.  Patrols identified the calling telephone number and the investigation is ongoing.
